About Daphne
Daphne was born and raised in Tattnall County and moved to Bulloch County after graduating from the University of Georgia in 1998 and Mercer University’s Walter F. George School of Law in 2002. Before joining the District Attorney’s Office, she worked as an associate attorney.
Since moving to Statesboro in 2002, Daphne has been active in the community. Daphne is a Bulloch County Bar Association member and served as President in 2004 and 2011. She is a 2006 graduate of Leadership Bulloch, a 2010 graduate of the Young Lawyers Leadership Academy for the State Bar of Georgia, a 2012 graduate of Leadership Southeast Georgia, and a 2018 Lynda B. Williamson Leadership Academy graduate. Daphne received the Statesboro Herald’s “40 under 40” in 2011 and a Deen Day Smith Service to Mankind Award in 2013.
Before being elected District Attorney in 2020, Daphne spent 17 years in the courtroom prosecuting all types of felony cases, including homicides, armed robberies, property-related crimes, gang cases, and crimes against women and children, including sexually based offenses.
Daphne lives in Statesboro with her husband Dirk, and their seven-year-old daughter, Kendall Lily.

Daphne will continue to attract and retain qualified, skilled, career prosecutors to continue the effective leadership and training for our law enforcement agencies and community partners.
